Anwar Robinson is presently living his career dreams as a recording artist, theater performer, and the
Creative Arts
Director & Music Enrichment Educator in a Manhattan New York private school. Anwar's first passion is education and he is excited about his position to develop global arts initiatives, voice and music curriculum, cross-cultural exchange and students exposure to Broadway, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Young People’s Program, Alvin Ailey, and youth performance participation that reinforce academics, inclusiveness, democracy and social justice
.  Anwar  is also the Director &  Minister  of  Music  at a significant Harlem institution.  Upon accomplishing his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at
Westminster Choir College | Rider University, Anwar became a public school educator of voice, music theory, and piano. Anwar simultaneously was a member of a young short-lived R&B group that signed with music industry legend Clive Davis.  Anwar then built the groundwork to transition into a successful independent solo recording career that garnered national exposure, landed a principal role in the touring company of  RENT the musical, GODSPELL, the original workshop of E. Lynn Harris' Invisible Life, and is most notably recognized for achieving a top finalist position on the world renowned televised competition AMERICAN IDOL.

After completing the American Idol Live Tour and   recordings  alongside   friend   and   season winner Carrie Underwood, Anwar progressed to headline his own concerts upon writing and releasing the inspirational single "Chosen" -- a song inspired by a personal family member and dedicated to cancer survivors.  The strength of his heartfelt message and dynamic vocal range lead to Anwar singing for a number of charities, arranging music, and playing piano for countless R&B and Gospel artists including Patti Labelle, Ashford & Simpson, Lillias White, Kelly Price and more.  Anwar continues to perform in concert. He is currently in the co-writing workshop phase of a Broadway bound production, rebranding with an international artist development team, as well in the studio recording his live-band Motown inspired CD.  He is grateful for growth, life lessons, and a successful new chapter.

To find balance, Anwar remains a family man quietly  rooted  in  his joy for inspirational gospel music and serving the community.  He is a New York City resident and alumnus of the famous Marble Collegiate Choir where he was a long-term featured soloist and ensemble member.  It is there Anwar met guest-speaker Broadway legend Ben Vereen whose advice inspired Anwar to rekindle his theatrical dream.  Most recently, Anwar reunited with American Idol and Ryan Seacrest to kick off "Idol Across America" which is a cross country passing of the actual Idol microphone through 13 cities.  Anwar has hopes of the microphone landing in some of the underserved schools across America that can benefit from the attention anexperience.   Anwar has embarked on a joint venture and is currently a creative partner of the UK based  Williams-Robinson AcademyTM.  He has taught in Ireland and is traveling internationally to conduct master vocal classes, piano workshops, adult choir tuneups and youth empowerment startups.
